After our last blog on child & pet safe plants for the home it got me all inspired to make some Dino Planters for this weekends upcoming Hide & Seek Children's market.
I thought i would capture the process for those feeling creative.
This DIY activity only requires a very basic skill level and your babe will love helping also!
I chose to use the Anko brand plastic dinosaur currently available at Kmart as they are really soft & easy to cut into. I chose to do my cut out in a diamond shape as it was super quick. I cut one side with an art scalpel and the other with kitchen scissors.
Painting is an optional step. I personally think they look uber cool in monochrome and a feature pop colour combo. I chose to use sample pots of wall paint purchased at Bunnings as there are sooooo many colour options and it only requires one coat.
I then filled the dino planter with soil from my garden and added a succulent cutting that i had sat in a glass of water for the last couple of weeks so it had started to sprout roots at the base.
Succulents are great as they are really hardy and thrive inside.
A little spray of water every couple of weeks or when you notice the plant looking limp, will keep these babies happy!
How cool do they all look together!
My little man was not impressed that these three are going to the market this weekend so its back to the art nook to make some for his room.
We are going to do a fun monochrome & mint combo to match his bedroom decor.

we would love to see!
